Sustainability in overall a supply chain has become an attractive topic in most of the research studies in recent years. The main objective is to simultaneously take into account economic, social/societal and environmental performance metrics within the decision making process. Methods and techniques for modeling, optimizing, and piloting of different components of logistics: internally (sustainable manufacturing), upstream (relationship with suppliers), downstream (relationship with customers), and reverse logistics, have been proposed in Operational Research, Management Science, Information Management, and Decision Support Systems.
This special session is interested in attracting high quality research papers addressing sustainability issues in logistics and supply chain.
- Suggested topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Sustainability in supply chain
- Reverse logistics and closed loop supply chain
- Improvement of supply chain operations through sustainability considerations
- Multi-criteria decision support for sustainable operations
- Sustainability in production
- Lean and green manufacturing
- Sustainability in services systems
- Green suppliers
- Green logistics services providers
- Sustainable transportation
