Call for Papers
The proceedings of SIMPAR 2016 will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore. Detailed guidelines are on the author instructions page. In a nutshell, please submit papers via the customary PaperPlaza process. Make sure to follow the format guidelines, available as LaTeX and MS Word templates on Paperplaza. Papers should be six pages in length, and we can accommodate up to two extra pages. All papers are reviewed using a single-blind review process: authors declare their names and affiliations in the manuscript for the reviewers to see, but reviewers do not know each other's identities, nor do the authors receive information about who has reviewed their manuscript.
The theme of the 2016 Edition is Leveraging Simulation and Machine Learning for Robotics.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- 3D robot simulation and mathematical modeling of robots
- Learning from simulation
- Reliability, scalability and validation of robot simulation
- Simulated sensors and actuators
- Machine learning for robotics applications
- Offline simulation of robot design
- Online simulation with real-time constraints
- Simulation with software/hardware in the loop
- Middleware for robotics
- Modeling framework for robots and environments
- Testing and validation of robot software
- Standardization for robotic services
- Communication infrastructures in distributed robotics
- Interaction between sensor networks and robots
- Human robot interaction and collaboration
- Simulation of multi-robot systems
- Model-based optimization and optimal control
- Model predictive control
