Universtiy of Denver Campus Scenes

The University of Denver is a private suburban university located approximately thirteen kilometers (eight miles) south of downtown Denver at the base of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The compact campus serves about 5,000 graduate students and 4,000 undergraduates. The academic programs serve students in the liberal arts, sciences, business, law, international studies, and engineering. The Denver Pioneers also enjoy a proud tradition in athletics. In just the past five years, DU teams have won two NCAA Division I National Championships in Hockey and three NCAA Division I National Championships in skiing.

Getting to the University of Denver

Denver Map

DIA - Denver International Airport - is the newest ground-up airport to be built in the United States. It is centrally located in the United States and is served by many airlines.

Driving by Car from DIA

Driving to the University of Denver is straightforward, but takes 45 minutes in good traffic, one hour during rush hour. Exit the airport on Pena Blvd. and take I-70 West to the I-225 South exit. Follow I-225 South to I-25 North and take the University Blvd. exit South.

by Taxi from DIA

The one-way cost of travel from DIA to the University of Denver (at University Blvd. & I-25) is about $70. The SuperShuttle services some of the hotels around DU and the Denver Tech Center for a cost around $20. Verify availability.

by Bus/Train from DIA

The RTD Bus provides periodic service to DU and surrounding hotels for about $8. Take the SkyRide route AT to Nine Mile station. (Board at level 5, island 5, outside door 506. Correct change is required. Pay the driver upon boarding. Ask for a transfer.) Transfer to the light rail H Line (100 m walk) at Nine Mile Station. Exit the light rail train at the University of Denver station. For other destinations, check the RTD Website.
