St. Francis of Assisi Church

The Igreja de São Francisco de Assis is a great icon of Belo Horizonte. Wherever its image appears, you know we’re talking about the Capital of Minas Gerais. It is part of the Complexo Turístico da Pampulha and is a highlight in the architectural and landscaping complex of the lake while being an important reference of modern architecture in Belo Horizonte.

Palace of Arts - Clóvis Salgado Foundation

Palácio das Artes, the grand temple of the arts in Minas Gerais. “The Palace of Arts is the only cultural center of its kind. It aggregates in a single address two theaters, four exhibition galleries, chamber music concert hall, multimedia room, cinema, indoors and outdoors living spaces, rehearsal rooms, library, music and video libraries, ateliers and scenographic workshops.”

Praça da Liberdade (Liberty Square) - Art and Knowledge Cultural Circuit

Praça da Liberdade is a symbol of cultural, historical and political values for the people of Belo Horizonte and Minas Gerais. In December 1991, there was the municipal spot listing of the area surrounding the square, which comprehends buildings that were not included in the spot listing of IEPHA, in 1977.

Praça Sete de Setembro (September 7th Square)

Formed by the crossing of the two main avenues of Belo Horizonte, Afonso Pena avenue and Amazonas avenue, praça Sete (Sete Square) is in the commercial heart of the city.
