About Region 9

In this website you will find information about IEEE CAS Society in Latin America (Region 9), news about upcoming,  sponsored events, activities and  a guide for chapter chairs. 

Region 9 is currently composed of eleven (11) chapters in Argentina (1), Brazil (3), Colombia (1), Mexico (3), Perú (1), Puerto Rico (1) and Venezuela (1). We face a usual challenge in Latin America: do more with a small budget and a strong will. Together with the chapter chairs we form an enthusiastic team that is continually working to provide more benefits to members in the region. 

Regional activities are the face and the core of CAS in Region 9. Most of the efforts during the present period is concentrated on creating new links among members in different countries and also on consolidating the existing ones; The CAS tour is an example of this. An additional effort is towards the access of Latin American students to integrated circuit fabrication, which led to the creation -within the frame of the CAS society- of the Latin American Consortium for Integrated Services (LACIS).
