Next Meeting: Thursday, October 25, 6 PM, Overview of the Arc Flash Hazard

Tony Parsons, a Principal Engineer for Square D's Power System Engineering group in Austin, TX will present an Overview of the Arc Flash Hazard. This presentation will provide discussion of several arcflash related issues, including an introduction to the problem, requirements in NFPA 70E and other relevant standards, arc-flash analysis, arc-flash mitigation, and future directions in arc-flash safety.

A big thank you to Bobby Richard of Yaskawa for his super presentation on Low Voltage - Neutral Point Clamped Variable Frequency Drives. The presentation gave us a new appreciation to the multiple levels of surge controls required to properly engineer motor application. We appreciate him taking the time to provide us presentation.
