The IROS2012 survey on “Robots, Society and Industry” has been launched.
To which great societal challenges may robotics contribute? Which R&D efforts are most needed? Which are the most important research avenues to focus on? What will be the main impact on industry competitiveness?
Take part in this survey, state your opinion and vision by filling a simple 1-page form. It will take no more than 5 minutes of your time, but you will help the community delineating and communicating the future directions of robotics R&D.

The IEEE/RSJ IROS 2012 Call for the Best Student Paper Award Nominations is now open via Papercept.

- Organized session proposal due: March 3, 2012; (CLOSED)
- Video session contribution deadline: April 20, 2012;
- Video Jubilee contribution deadline: May 15, 2012;
- Notification of acceptance for W/T: April 20, 2012;
- Notification of acceptance for videos: July 2, 2012;
- Notification of acceptance for papers: July 2, 2012;
- Final paper submission deadline: July 21, 2012;
- Final video submission (if required): July 21, 2012.
Paper Submission
The paper submission is through Paperplaza; Optional Multimedia materials (e.g. videos, enhanced pictures, audio files, experimental dataset - all limited to three minutes duration) can be added to supplement contributed papers. For details see Paper Submission Instructions page.
Video Session Contribution
Videos of 1.5 to 3 minutes illustrating new and exciting results are sought for this IROS 2012 edition. Contributed videos will be peer-reviewed and accepted videos will be presented in video sessions/track within the main conference program. Also, the IROS2012 Best Video Prize (500 Euro and award certificate) will be awarded during the Conference. Video submission is through Paperplaza. For details see Video Submission Instructions page.
Call for IROS Jubilee Video
This IROS edition celebrates the Silver Jubilee with a series of special events.
Videos of 1.5 to 5 minutes illustrating the history and/or milestones in intelligent robotics and/or intelligent systems in the last 25 years are sought for this IROS 2012 Jubilee edition. A dedicated Award will be assigned to recognize the most outstanding IROS Jubilee Video. The winner will be awarded US$ 1,750 prize, one free IROS 2012 registration and a certificate. Co-winners will share the Award prize. Jubilee video submission is through Paperplaza. For details see Jubilee Video page.
