Historic Academy of Medicine


Humanoids 2013 will be held at the Historic Academy of Medicine in one of the most beautiful and historic settings in Georgia. The Academy is listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its beautiful composition and neoclassical architecture. In 2011 the building celebrated its 70th anniversary and grand re-opening after an 18 month modern renovation, combining modern technology with southern charm.

A tribute to the southern reputation of charm and elegance, the facility displays Doric columns, an entry portico, black and white Italian marble floors in a beautiful rotunda accented by the famous Czechoslovakian chandelier seen in the movie, "Gone with the Wind." The Academy offers old-world elegance and style of days gone by, in the heart of bustling midtown Atlanta.

The location is easily accessible from the Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport in 30 minutes via MARTA train with a single line connecting the airport and the conference location. Taxis and shuttles are also available at the airport.

The Academy is a 10 minute walk from the Georgia Institute of Technology and close to numerous downtown Atlanta attractions including the Georgia Aquarium, Coca Cola museum, CNN and Olympic Park.



Location

The Confernce Venue is 1 block from the MARTA Midtown station. Georgia Tech is located a few blocks to the west. Downtown can be reached in 5 minutes by taxi/car or a couple stops on MARTA.

    The Historic Academy of Medicine has two floors. The upper floor contains a theater for the general session and a large space for exhibits, small breakouts and the parlor. The lower floor has rooms for further breakouts, receptions and telecast of presentations.
