Transportation from/to Beijing Capital International Airport:
The distance between Beijing Friendship Hotel and the Beijing Capital International Airport is about 35km.
- By taxi:It takes about 60 minutes by taxi from the airport to Beijing Friendship Hotel. The taxi fare is about RMB 120 (approx. US$20), and tollgate fee is RMB10. Whenever you arrive at the airport, there are always many taxis waiting at the airport to pick up passengers. Note: Please confirm that the taxi plate number starts with "京B", otherwise the car is not licensed for taxi service and thus illegal.
- By shuttle bus: Take the shuttle bus (Capital Airport from/to Gongzhufen), get off/get on at the stop of Friendship Hotel.
- By subway: From the airport, take Airport Express (subway) to Sanyuanqiao station (三元桥站), transfer to Subway Line #10 to Haidianhuangzhuang station (海淀黄庄站), transfer to Subway Line #4 to Renmin University station(人民大学站),and come out from Exit D. Then, take 3 minutes' walk to Beijing Friendship Hotel.

Subway:
The Beijing Subway, now has 22 lines, 370 stations, and 608 km of lines. The Beijing Subway is a rapid transit rail network that serves the urban and suburban districts of Beijing municipality. Fares start at ¥3 for a trip up to 6 km in distance, with ¥1 added for the next 6 km, for every 10 km thereafter until the trip distance reaches 32 km, and for every 20 km beyond the first 32 km. For example, a 40 km trip would cost ¥7. The Airport Express costs ¥25 per ride.

Weather:
Beijing features a four season, monsoon-influenced climate, typical of East Asia, with cold, windy, very dry winters reflecting the influence of the vast Siberian anticyclone, and hot, humid summers, due to the monsoon.

Smoking in indoor public places has been banned in Beijing from June 1, 2015 following the rolling out of the toughest ever anti-smoking regulation in China. The regulation extends smoking bans to include all indoor public areas and workplaces, and a number of outdoor areas including schools, seating areas in sports stadiums and hospitals.
Tipping:
Gratuities are not customary in China. However, in hotels and during group travels, tipping is practiced for porters, tour guides and drivers.

Organizers of the Humanoids 2018 conference do not take any liability for personal accidents or injury or loss or damage to private property of any participant indirectly arising from travelling to Beijing and/or attending the conference and technical tour. Participants are advised to purchase adequate travel and health insurance before leaving their own countries.
Safety and Security:
In general, China is a very safe country. However, beware of pickpockets and be careful when crossing the road. We also recommend having copies of your passport and credit cards with you in case of loss or theft.
