Traralgon Golf Club
The Traralgon Golf Club is Latrobe City’s biggest. Traralgon Golf Club has been the focal point of golf in Gippsland for many years and is one of the success stories of the Victorian PGA Pro-Am Circuit. The two-day Traralgon Pro-Am was first held in 1991 and is now a regular event on the Victorian PGA calendar. One of Australian golf’s biggest names Greg Norman won his second professional event at the Traralgon Classic. Ian Stanley, Wayne Grady, Ian Baker-Finch and Peter Senior are just a few of the many other high profile names to have graced the fairways. The Traralgon Pro-Am is recognised as the most successful event of its kind in country Victoria.

Course Description: Men 18 holes Par 72, ACR 69.6 5899 metres.  Ladies 18 holes Par 71, ACR71, 5167 metres
Services and Facilities: Situated on the edge of the town centre, enjoy relaxing on the clubhouse deck that overlooks the 18th fairway, with views extending to the 1st and 9th holes. With 3 rooms available for hire and catering for 10 to 200 people. The main function room can seat more than 100 people and has a dancefloor and raised stage.  No in-house catering available, however a large kitchen is available and allows for self-catered or external caterers. Open 7 days a week.

Morwell has an attractive central business district (CBD), sitting both sides of the Gippsland rail line, Forming the western entrance to the CBD is the spectacular Morwell Centenary rose Garden which leads into Commercial Road.

Along the tree-lined is where the majority of retail activity occurs. A feature of Morwell’s South-side is Legacy Place; which features a monument dedicated to Sir Stanley Savige, born in Morwell but better known as the founder of Legacy. Commercial Road also houses the Latrobe City Council headquarters, Latrobe Justice Precinct and the Latrobe Regional Art Gallery, which hosts travelling collections as well as exhibiting an ever changing selection of local works. A pedestrian underpass links to the north-side of the CBD, home to the railway station, post office, and a variety of businesses.

In addition to the CBD, Morwell has the large Mid Valley Shopping Centre, including a wide range of retail outlets an eight cinema theatre complex. Not far from Mid Valley, is the Morwell Civic Gardens, consisting of large areas of lawn, Kernot Lake, the Gippsland Immigration Park and associated walking track.

MORWELL GOLF CLUB
