About the Divani Caravel hotel
The conference venue is the Divani Caravel Hotel, member of the Leading Hotels of the World.
The Divani Caravel Hotel is located in the city center of Athens, at Vassileos Alexandrou 2, 16121 Athens, Greece (map).
Special room rates have been arranged for the ICUAS ’20 conference participants. More details and web-links for online reservation are available for the recommended accommodation package.
The metro station closest to the hotel (5 to 7 minutes walk) is Evangelismos station, served by Metro Line 3 (Blue line), which connects the downtown Athens to the airport. The Evangelismos station is also one stop away from the famous Syntagma Square.

As early as in March 2020, the hotel implemented several measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19, including:
- Installation of additional hand washing & hand sanitizing stations at the conference areas, public hotel areas and staff premises;
- Expanded employee training in transmission prevention, which incorporates guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO);
- Notices in public areas to inform guests about the situation and protective measures they can take;
- Frequent sanitizing of common areas including food preparation areas, restaurants and bars, spa;
- Providing updates to guests on the situation as needed.
As of early June 2020, Greece is getting ready for reopening to international travel. The Divani Collection Hotels have issued a message regarding their strong commitment to a clean and healthy stay to make to ensure a safe and worry-free stay to its guests.
As of July 2020, the decision has been made to hybrid conference (with on- and off-venue presentations). We strongly recommend physical presence and physical paper presentations – Greece remains safe and the hotel follows all safety protocols.
