Student Activities

Student Activities Committee Chair
Steven D James

Regional Student Representative
Maxwell R Steuer

Big NEWS: The organizers of the EIT Conference have agreed to allow the first 50 student paper authors (maximum of four per paper) to attend the outstanding EIT conference technical sessions for free! This is a $200 value per student! Also, the winners will be invited to receive their awards during the Banquet on Monday evening.

Because of this, we have decided to change the date of the oral presentations to May 6th (Sunday) to better align with the conference and to allow for easier travel. Note reasonable travel expenses will be paid by Region 4.

Note that the Student Paper Contest is separate from the EIT conference papers and students should not be discouraged from entering the contest due to a false sense of needing technical sophistication to win. The Region 4 Student Paper Contest's primary function is to improve the engineering Student's communication skills. The paper can be one presented previously (reformatted per the guidelines) or could even be a reformatting of a simple design project or report.
