2017 IEEE Symposium on Computational Intelligence in Scheduling and Network Design (IEEE CISND'17)

Symposium Description

The 2017 IEEE Symposium on Computational Intelligence in Scheduling and Network Design (IEEE CISND'17) invites research on all aspects of computational intelligence applied to scheduling and network design problems. Due to their huge search spaces that have to be explored, scheduling and network problems cannot usually be solved by exact approaches. Therefore, significant research attention has been attracted on exploring techniques in Computational Intelligence (including evolutionary computation, neural networks, swarm intelligence, fuzzy logic, and their hybridisations with classic integer programming techniques like branch and bound, column generations, branch and pricing, etc.).

Topics

This symposium aims to explore recent advances in this area. Topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Transportation Network Optimisation
  • Communication Network Optimisation
  • Generate Network Design Problems
  • Supply Chain Optimisation
  • Production Scheduling
  • Personnel Scheduling
  • Sports Scheduling
  • Educational Timetabling
  • Commercial Scheduling Packages
  • Transport Scheduling
  • Other scheduling problems
  • Complexity Analyses in Scheduling
  • Complexity Analyses in Network Design Problems
  • Comparative Studies (e.g. compare Neural Networks with Fuzzy Logic; comparison of a meta-heuristic approach with a CI approaches)
  • Interactive Scheduling using Computational Intelligence
  • Experiences of CI within Scheduling
  • Case Studies in Scheduling and Network Design
  • Theoretical or empirical analysis of algorithms and representations for scheduling and network design
