About IEEE, CT-CS

The IEEE Computer Society Chapter of CT Section is an active Chapter of the IEEE Computer Society. It engages in systematic professional development of its members through Learning sessions, Networking opportunities, and participation in various activities. The IEEE, CT-CS encourages its members and volunteers to actively promote the Chapter activities so the local members in CT can derive the maximum benefit. In the year 2006, the Chairperson's vision is to revitalize the chapter through increased interaction amongst its members and through close interaction with the best-in-class Academia and more importantly the Local Industry in Connecticut. While the academia interaction has been strong historically, the vision of the IEEE, CT-CS Chair is to increase the scope of participation with both fortune companies in the region as well as with widespread small, medium and large enterprises in different parts of Connecticut. One fact that many tend to overlook while working with IEEE is the length and breadth of the IEEE scope of participation. IEEE is a member organization that doesn't only promote technical interests but also covers Legal, Ethical and Management issues in IEEE related Technology areas. It is therefore essential for cross sections of the industry and Academia to come forward and participate in helping grow the mission of IEEE Computer Society and make IEEE CT-CS a meaningful contributor to the cause.
