In the Spring of 2002, the NoVA section AdCom voted to withdraw from NCAC. After extended and somtimes intense discussions, the Members of NoVA voted to withdraw and the Regional Activities Board agreed to the NoVA request, effectively disolving NCAC. Some of the discussion has been retained for historical reasons and may be seen if you follow the links below.
Here we will only quote a resolution adopted at the last recorded meeting of NCAC on November 11, 2002:
We, present officers of NCAC, hereby aknowledge the inevitable disolution of NCAC and take the opportunity to recognize the officers and directors of NCAC and in particular its chairman, Saj Durrani, for a job well done under adverse conditions, testing the patience of any but the most dedicated volunteer.

The National Capital Area Council (NCAC) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is comprised of two sections of the IEEE: the Washington Section and the Northern Virginia Section . In addition, the Consultants Network is an affinity group.
The affairs of NCAC are, according to the bylaws, managed by a Council Steering
