The Evolution of SCADA in the Electrical Power Industry
Mr. Mayer will give an all-encompassing presentation on the history and development of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), the system used by utilities and power distribution companies to monitor their networks. The presentation will include a review of the development of SCADA systems from the most primitive telephone based monitoring to the future of even more comprehensive real time system monitoring operation over the tomorrows data networks. If you are interested in the history of an important part of the utility industry, how it works, and where it is going; this is an excellent chance to here about SCADA from one of the leaders in the field. Students are especially encouraged to attend this introduction to this growing and essential field.
