The 2003 IEEE International Conference on EE
Education in the 21 st Century in Southern-Eastern
Europe will be held in Sarajevo, the CAPITAL OF Bosnia
and Herzegovina. Although squeezed between mountains,
Sarajevo has nevertheless found enough room , like no
other European city, to accommodate all four of the
largest world religions and their associated cultures
and civilizations.

They lived together for centuries, creating new values
and one might say, a new multinational civilization
that endured all chalenges of history, including the
last agression on Bosnia and Herzegovina occured
between March 1992 and January 1996.
During the Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian Empires, some
of the monumental buildings were built which to these
days represent masterpiece of architecture and
civilization of that age, and evenmore nowadays belong
to the world cultural heritage. The world entrusted to a such cosmopolitan and modern
city the organisation of thze 14 th Winter Olympic
games, held in 1984 and internationally praised as on
of the most successful events in the history of the
Olympic Games.

Eventually, we just missed the next Olympic Games
2010, but we still work on it to ensure our
candidature for the next occasion in 2014, because all
traces of the last war almost completely dissapeared
and the situation in our country stabilised we are
