Focus Areas
EDMS (formerly TC-12), the technical committee on electrical design, modeling and simulation has identified four major areas that would benefit the CPMT society and its members. These are consistent with the present and future needs for designing high speed systems. These are:
- System partitioning which include issues such as IC/Package co-designs, clock distribution, signal distribution, on-chip/off-chip signal propagation and design verification.
- Mixed signal design which involve areas such as microwave design, integral passives, quiet island design, electromagnetic interference and MEMs.
- High speed digital package design which include topics such as simultaneous switching noise, core noise, power distribution, decoupling capacitor effects, signal integrity modeling, and measurement techniques.
- Accelerated modeling techniques which include areas such as parameter extraction, fast computations, fast numerical methods and macro-modeling.
