The 2013 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA 2013) will be held on May 6-10, 2013 in Germany, in Karlsruhe, the city in which Heinrich Hertz discovered the electromagnetic waves in 1888 and which gave birth in 1844 to Karl Benz – the inventor of the gasoline-powered automobile – and in 1785 to Karl von Drais – inventor of the first bicycle-like vehicle called “Walking Machine” or “Draisine”.

The conference theme is “Anthropomatics – Technologies for Humans”, highlighting the paramount role of Robotics and Automation in improving human quality of life. It is organized by an international committee of experts in various fields of research.

The conference will take place in the Kongresszentrum Karlsruhe, which is located in the city centre of Karlsruhe and can be reached easily by train, by car, by tram or by foot. The online reservation system for hotels can be found here.
