The IEEE Western Australia Section Celebrate IEEE Day 2022 -- Family Day Out/Picnic - Kings Park - 1st October
IEEE Day is the 4th Oct but there is some discretion to celebrate it in the days around the 4th Oct.
In past years the Family Day Out and the IEEE Day have been organised as stand alone section events. This year the circumstances suited combining the events.
IEEE Day celebrates the first time in history when engineers worldwide and IEEE members gathered to share their technical ideas in 1884. On this day, we IEEE Members acknowledge and celebrate the wonderful advancements in engineering and look forward to sharing more ideas for the betterment of humanity.
Many IEEE volunteers are indebted to their partners who provide support and sacrifice some of their own couple time to allow their IEEE volunteer partners serve the IEEE. The partners of IEEE volunteers are an important part of the IEEE family.
The WA section celebrated this in Perth’s glorious sunshine at Kings Park on the 1st Oct. It was a simple BYO picnic attended by IEEE members and some of their partners/wives. The location was also in the midst of a popular wildflower display throughout the park. This made the journey to and from the picnic area even more enjoyable.
