| Awards The following awards will be presented in the conference. There will be a special award paper finalist session. Nomination THORLABS BEST STUDENT PAPER AWARD: All primary, first-listed authors of a regular contributed paper who were students at the time of submission are eligible for the Thorlabs Best Student Paper Award. To be considered for the award, the paper must be nominated by the student’s advisor using the nomination form (1-page maximum, converted to pdf). The nomination must be submitted through PaperPlaza (From the PaperPlaza main page, click on "Submit a contribution to 2010 CASE" and then "Thorlabs Best Student Paper Nomination.") The deadline for nominations is April 20, 2010.
• Spansion Best Conference Paper Award The Spansion Best Conference Paper Award will be awarded each year to the paper in the conference that best exemplifies the research and advance in automation science and engineering. Founded in 1989, Thorlabs is headquartered in Newton, New Jersey with over 500 employees at manufacturing and sales offices throughout the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Sweden, Japan, and China. • Best Poster Paper and Presentation Award The Best Poster Paper and Presentation Award is a new award this year to encourage high quality poster presentation. • Association for Laboratory Automation Young Scientist Award The Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (formerly Association for Laboratory Automation (ALA)) & IEEE RAS CASE sponsors the 2010 SLAS Young Scientist award for the best paper and presentation in laboratory automation by a junior faculty member or graduate student. In addition to the cash award, the winner will be invited to present the paper at SLAS annual conference and exhibition in January of the following year . The paper will be featured in SLAS peer-reviewed scientific journal: Journal of the Association for Laboratory Automation (JALA).
