Organized Sessions

Organized sessions provide a forum for focused discussions on new topics and innovative applications of established approaches. An organized session consists of at least five related papers that must be submitted through the regular review process.

Each organized session will consist of regular papers associated with a specific subfield of robotics. Organized session proposals have to be submitted via PaperPlaza, which will then reviewed by the program committee. Once approved, authors can submit their papers as an "Organized session paper" to PaperPlaza, following the regular paper guidelines.

Note that papers submitted to organized sessions are reviewed exactly like all the other papers. Sessions are divided into six slots of 15 minutes each. The proposals should include:

  • The names and affiliations of the organizers;
  • A brief abstract limited to 1 page describing the theme and content of the symposium;
  • The proposed format for the organized session including a list of invited talks and papers, with titles and authors.
  • If your session has an invited talk, a brief abstract limited to 1 page abstract by an invited speaker is needed.

Session organizers are also encouraged to start with an invited talk of each session that provides an overview of the specific area and the research challenges. This may be either just a short, 15-minute overview of the specific area given by one of the organizers or someone else in that session, or a longer 30 or 45 minute talk. Note that there is no support for the invited speakers.
