We are pleased to welcome you to the 2009 IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium, which will be held in Roma from September 20 to 23 at the Ergife Palace Hotel, one of Roma's largest and best equipped conference centers with around 1000 rooms for guests and 35 fully equipped conference rooms, and situated only a very short distance from the center of the city.

We are sure that you will enjoy your visit to Roma, which is rightly known as one of the most beautiful ad interesting cities in the world. It is a city of culture and history, packed with the remains of well over two thousand years on inhabitation.

It is the city of the Caesars with majestic monuments from the golden days of the ancient Roman Empire: the Forum, the Coliseum, the Pantheon etc. But it is also the city of the Popes, the center of the catholic world, with St. Peter's Cathedral and an endless number of other grand, beautiful cathedrals and churches.

It is the city of world famous squares, fountains, and palaces: Piazza Navona, the Trevi Fountain, the Spainsh Steps, just to mention a few.

But Roma is so much more than an open-air museum; everywhere you find great restaurants with superb food and wine, lovely bars and cafés, excellent shopping, and vibrant night life.
