ICRA 2009 will feature the following conference awards. The ICRA 2009 awards chair is Prof. John M. Hollerbach. Each award is handled by a committee.

(*) Note that the application is required via Paperplaza. (The application deadline is September 29, November 30, 2008).
For each award, finalists are being selected by the corresponding committee. The finalists will be notified in March 2009 or later. The final evaluation by the awards committees will take into account the presentations at ICRA 2009. The awards will be presented at the conference during the awards lunch ceremony.
Best Student Paper Award

Student Paper Nomination Form
Eligibility: Contributed Papers can be considered for the ICRA2009 Best Student Paper Award, privided that the first author is a student and primary developer of the ideas contained in the paper. The student must be a current IEEE Student member. No restrictions as to nationality, race, creed, sex, or age.
Note: The paper must be nominated by the student's faculty advisor by compiling a Best Student Paper Nomination Form.
The nominator should fill in this form (a .doc file), including in particular the student's data, the number provided by the PaperPlaza system to the already submitted paper, and a justification for the nomination. The nominated paper should not be resubmitted, as it is already in the system. The filled Nomination Form should be converted to a PDF file and submitted through the conference submission website (PaperPlaza).

KUKA Service Robotics Best Paper Award

Kuka Award Nomination Form
A best paper award in the area of service robotics sponsored by KUKA Roboter GmbH was established for the IEEE International Conference in Robotics and Automation (ICRA) since 2008. The purpose of the award is to promote between robotics science research and industry R&D advancement in the area of service robotics applications (both professional and domestic).
Eligibility: All papers (contributed papers and invited papers) submitted to the ICRA2009. No restrictions as to IEEE membership, organization, nationality, race, creed, sex, or age.
Factors to be considered are: The significance of the new applications, technical merits, originality, potential impact on the field, and clarity of presentation.
Note: When applying for the KUKA Award via PaperPlaza, please describe what you consider to be your principal achievements and contributions in the field of Service Robotics.
