In-person and Virtual Presentation Instructions

All ICRA 2022 papers will be presented both in an oral presentation session and (optionally) in a poster session:

Oral sessions

ICRA 2022 will include two oral sessions a day during the main conference. Each session is composed of up to 12 papers. The structure of each session is six 4-minute presentations (the videos that were uploaded to infovaya), followed by a 10-minute Q&A for those 6 papers, then 6 more 4-minute presentations and another 10 minute Q&A.

  • Papers presented by an author attending in person: The session chair will start the presentation video and mute the sound to enable the presenter to talk over the video. Presenters are encouraged to treat the video as an auto-advancing presentation and practice accordingly.
  • Papers presented by an author attending remotely: The session chair will start the presentation video with sound. The author will not deliver the presentation, but will participate in the Q&A.

The Q&A will include both in-person and remote presenters. Each room will have a zoom link, found on infovaya, and the session chairs will moderate the discussion including both in-person and remote attendees.

Poster sessions

ICRA 2022 will include two poster sessions a day during the main conference; each poster session will include all the papers presented in the oral session that precedes it.

The poster session will take place in the exhibit hall. All posters will be paper posters brought by attendees. There are no power supplies or displays for video presentations. Authors who cannot attend in person are welcome to arrange for colleagues to display their posters; the poster sessions will not be part of the remote participation experience.

Posters will be presented in pods of 4 posters. Each pod will have a sign on the top indicating which posters will be presented at that pod. The sign will include an oral presentation room number, and a range of numbers (1-4, 5-8, or 9-12). To find their pod, presenters should look for the room number in which their paper was presented, and the paper’s slot in that session. For example, a pod labeled “Room 123, 5-8” will display posters for papers presented fifth through eighth in room 123 in the session that just concluded.

Each section of the pod will have room for a paper poster, and a small shelf on which you can place a laptop, a tablet, or a small demo, if you choose to present more interactive content. Note that there will not be a power outlet, so make sure your device, if you choose to have one, is charged before the poster session.

Poster format

The maximum dimension of the poster panel is 74” wide x 53” high (~1.8m wide x ~1.3m high) though we suggest not exceeding 60” wide x 40” high (1.5m wide x 1m high). A drawing of the pod can be found here.

There is no specific template for the posters. You should choose the format that best represents your research work. Please use the ICRA 2022 logos that can be found here.

Poster setup and takedown

If your paper is scheduled to be presented in the morning session, please set up your poster before the plenary session, and no later than 9:50 am. You should take down your poster during the lunch break, no later than 1 pm, to allow the next session to set up.

If your paper is scheduled to be presented in the afternoon session, please set up your poster during lunch, starting at 1 pm. You should take down your poster by the end of the day.
