Getting Around Philadelphia

Philadelphia is a very walkable city with various public transportation options. The anchor hotel (Philadelphia Marriott Downtown) is attached to the convention center and all attractions, museums, and restaurants are within walking distance. We do not recommend renting a car from the airport just for attending the conference.

Instead, you can use the following options for getting around Philadelphia:

Ride-Sharing

Ride-sharing, most commonly associated with Uber & Lyft are prevalent as a means of transportation, providing another option for visitors to get around the destination. Ride-sharing companies provide transportation through their apps in the driver’s personal vehicle.

Taxis

Taxis are the main form of transportation used throughout Philadelphia. There is an abundance of them all over the city and, most likely, always a few waiting within a taxi line at the Pennsylvania Convention Center all hours of the day and night.

Public Transportation

  • PATCO - high speed train line between Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia.
  • SEPTA - operates various forms of public transit: bus, subway and elevated rail, commuter rail, light rail, and electric trolleybus.
  • The Philly PHLASH Downtown Loop - is the quick, easy and inexpensive connection to key Philadelphia historic attractions and cultural institutions
