Videos submitted to ICRA 2019 can show novel research results or interesting applications relevant to the conference topics. The objective of the submitted videos is to inspire the interest of the broader public to robotic research and reflect the reality of current research challenges. There will be two categories: regular videos and “bloopers”. In the blooper category, of particular interest are videos that highlight unexpected behaviour or adversarial conditions and show how that degrades the performance of the system. We welcome videos showing early results as well as well-researched results. The emphasis should be on real systems, or realistic models. Submitted videos will be reviewed by the Conference Video Committee.
Videos Submissions Guidelines
To submit a video to ICRA 2019, please refer to the following instructions:
- Duration: 1-4 minutes.
- Size: Less than 50 MB.
- Format (only one of the following should be used): mpeg, mp4, mpg
- Maximum duration in seconds: 240
- Minimum video quality: 720p
- Minimum frame rate (fps): 24
- Codecs: Do not use special codecs in order to provide as much portability across platforms as possible. Any variance from the suggested formatting may result in difficulties playing the file on different platforms and could be blocked.
- The speed of the video should be clearly indicated.
- Audio is optional, but lack of audio should have minimal impact on the comprehension of the video.
- Structure: The video must include at the beginning a video cover with the title, authors and affiliation and the credits at the end.
When preparing the video, please make it as professional as possible. Producing a video already requires a significant amount of effort, and therefore, spending a little more effort to raise the quality can make a big difference in how it is received.
The video should not have any commercial pitch and the authors of each video must have clear copyright of the audio and visual content. The copyright should be released to the conference.
The submission of the videos will be through the electronic submission process via PaperPlaza.
Each video submission must be accompanied by a one-page description in PDF file format, which includes:
- title, authors, and affiliation
- video category (regular video OR blooper)
- 200-word abstract, and
- contact information
The selected videos (and the PDF descriptions) will be linked in the electronic conference proceedings and will also be displayed during the conference and to the public via social media. Guidelines for general audience viewing apply.
For more information or details on video submission, please contact videos@icra2019.org.
