Christian Mounir received his Master of Science in Applied Physics in 2012 from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. During his master thesis “Modulation spectroscopy on III-nitride heterostructures” he designed a versatile photo- and electroreflectance setup for the optical characterization of (AlGaIn)N semiconductor heterostructures.
In April 2013 he joined the optoelectronics group of Prof Ulrich T. Schwarz at IMTEK. He studies there the optical polarization properties of semipolar and nonpolar InGaN quantum wells (QWs) for novel high efficient LEDs. His area of expertise are the high resolution polarization-resolved confocal photoluminescence microscopy and the simulation of the optical emission of QWs based on k·p electronic band structure computations.
