Roiy Raz
CV / Former activities
Roiy Raz studied MEMS engineering at the Faculty of engineering (IMTEK) at the University of Freiburg. He received his B.Sc. degree with his thesis on the “Characterization of Electrical Offset Voltages of Vertical Hall Sensors” at the chair of Prof. Dr. Oliver Paul and continued his work at Microsystem Materials Laboratory as an intern of the company Micronas GmbH, Freiburg, Germany. The project was finished with patents from his ideas, filed in Europe, United States, Japan and China.
During his master studies he joined Dr. Tzeno Galchevs group on energy harvesting devices for conversion of environmental and human motion.
Currently he is a team member of Dr. Patrick Ruthers optogenetics group and works on his master thesis under supervision of Michael Schwärzle, Phd student. Roiy Raz is pushing the development of optical cochlea implants technology forward - well, he's trying ;)
