Nigel
Custance studied Physics at the University College, London before
taking a Ph.d. in remote sensing at Bedford College London. He then
used his image processing expertise within Plessey Radar's research
Centre. A spell in business development and marketing followed before
he transferred to Plessey's software 'factory' developing air defence
systems. His entry into the UK government's Home Office was as a
project director for Crime/Criminal information systems. Promotion
next saw him developing and expanding the Home Office's Police Scientific
Development Branch's research centre for Protective Security. Nigel
was previously on loan to the UK Government's Cabinet Office --
he was their Director of Security Consultancy, providing assessment,
development and advice to UK government and others.
Nigel hosted the
2001 ICCST in London, England.
